Hello and welcome! KemonoWorld is a small group of kemono enthusiasts based in the California area. We're passionate fursuiters, makers, and artists, with a love for Asian inspired fursuits. We invite others to join us as we host events and share kemono with the world!
What Is Kemono?
One question that is often asked is what exactly is a kemono. Kemono varies by perspective but the simplest way to answer this is Japanese style/inspired furry culture. Western fursuits and art have a more cartoonish or realistic approach to it. Kemono fursuits and art, on the other hand, have a more 'kawaii' and/or anime style to it. The difference can almost be viewed as western cartoons versus anime. KemonoWorld loves all walks of furry life but specifically caters to the Kemono subculture of furry.
What's a furry?
Did you just meet someone from KemonoWorld and looking to know more about us? If so, we're glad you're here! So just what is furry and the furry fandom? The furry fandom is a subculture interested in anthropomorphic animal characters. Most fans or people in this fandom are creative and enjoy its art, fursuits (costume made to display a person's unique character), media, games, and much more. Simply put, if you can see yourself as an anthropomorphic character, you're a furry :)
KemonoWorld Meetups
KemonoWorld is a friendly group of fursuiters here to spread joy and awareness of kemono in the US. We're based in Southern California and usually have events in that area. We internally decide on meetups and if in a private area/facility, will coordinate with the venue beforehand. We don't publicly announce our meets to help ensure the gathering stays fun, respectful, and not overcrowded.
